We've often had to bypass (override) office, school or university proxy server, to visit sites with access denied because inserted in the "black list" of forbidden web address, as Facebook, Myspace, Youtube and more.
We could use anonymous proxies, but before that solution we could try a trick to use Google directly as if it were a proxy, using the "translate" function.
For sites in English just copy and paste the address:
http://www.google.com/translate?langpair=it|en&u=www.blockedsite.com
where www.blockedsite.com is web page you want to visit and with access denied.
In this way, the office / school proxy will connect to Google and not the blocked site, so it'll be easy navigation.
Unfortunately the trick sometimes does not work, and this happens when proxy blocks address that contains certain word in the black list (eg. Facebook, Myspace, and so on).
