Powerful alternative to Windows Search

When you want to find a file on your hard disk, the first solution you think is to use the "Search" function of Windows, which begins to sift through all the files and folders on your hard disk searching what we typed.
Unfortunately, if our computer is full of programs, files, folders and subfolders, research will take a lot of time. In addition, this search function frequently blocks the computer.

As alternative, I found a fantastic software called Everything.
It's freeware (just 350 Kb) and a very powerful tool, since it's able to index all your hard disk, with all its files and folders, in a few seconds.
From that moment, simply enter your search term in the top bar and results will appear in real-time.

To improve search, you can use the asterisk as a wildcard (eg *. mp3 will find all mp3 on your hard disk)..
Among the options available, you can also choose to highlight the words corresponding to your searchand you can view the file information (last modified date, file type, date creation, etc.. ). The only flaw is that it scans the compressed files (zip, rar, etc..).

Everything works with Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, 2008, and Windows 7.
Try it and you'll be amazed by his speed.
